What makes a good latte mug

Height and volume. A latte is mostly steamed milk, so it needs a taller body than an espresso cup and more room than a small coffee mug. Our 15 oz ceramic mugs hold a full latte with foam on top without filling to the brim, and the glaze keeps it warm longer than glass does.

Ceramic latte mugs versus glass

Glass shows the layers, which is why cafés use it. Ceramic holds heat better and gives you a printed surface to work with, so the mug becomes something you choose rather than just something you drink from. If you want the layered look, our glass coffee mugs are the alternative.

Sizes, prints and care

These are 15 oz mugs; compare them with our other sizes in the coffee mug sizes guide. Every design is sublimated into the glaze so it survives daily washing, and both dishwasher and microwave are fine. Start from the artwork instead in animal mugs, floral mugs or funny mugs.

Latte mugs: common questions

What size is a latte mug?

Typically 12 to 16 oz. Ours are 15 oz, which fits a standard double-shot latte with foam.

Are ceramic latte mugs better than glass?

Ceramic holds heat longer and can carry a printed design. Glass shows the layers. It depends which you care about.

Can I use these for cappuccino?

They will work, though a traditional cappuccino cup is smaller and wider. A 15 oz mug gives you a large, milky version.

Are they dishwasher and microwave safe?

Yes, both. Top rack of the dishwasher keeps the print sharpest.

Will the design fade over time?

No. It is sublimated into the glaze, not applied to the surface.

Do you ship for free?

Shipping is free on every order to the United States, with no minimum. Canadian orders are charged at checkout.
